| TOYO TIRE &
RUBBER CO. LTD. have decided to build a new manufacturing plant in the
United States. In the past few years we have
received huge orders from overseas and we have tried very hard to increase
tyre production in Japan, but it has not been possible to satisfy all these
orders.
This issue has been taken very seriously. The
following points were considered: 1. The expansion of the factory in Japan
is extremely difficult. 2. The world's largest demand is in the United
States. 3. Ways to minimize currency fluctuation risks.
After deep discussion, Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd. has
decided to construct a new factory in the United States.
The factory will be located in the eastern part of the
United States with an investment of 150 million U.S. dollars.
Tyre production is planned to start in 2005.
Production of 2 million pieces of passenger car radial & light truck
radial tyres is expected annually.
Toyo has won No. 1 in the "Overall Brand Average" for
three consecutive years in the passenger and light truck category of the
survey conducted by the major American magazine "Tire Review".
We believe the decision to have a new factory in the
United States will reinforce our brand reliability furthermore. |
