Australian Safari
The
Australian Safari is an off-road motor sport
event,
which
in 2008 took place
on the
23rd
to the 30th August. In
this event, competitors traverse over
5,500kms in the
Australian outback. This
event is known as one of the worlds harshest and challenging
off-road races.
The Australian Safari is also referred to as the Southern Hemisphere’s
"Paris
to Dakar Rally"
This
year the
Australian Safari included
approximately 100 competitors,
including bikes,
quads and cars.
Competitors came from all parts of the world,
including England, Japan, Scotland,
Sweden and of course Australia.
An Australian competitor, Dave Fong
was competing for the first time in this event,
and finished 12th
outright.
Competitors who had competed in previous
Australian Safaris commented that the conditions in the 2008 event were the
harshest ever. David used
Toyo 265/75R16 123P
Open Country Mud Terrain tyres,
fitted to "Performance" brand wheels. The tyres were
supplied by Bayswater Tyres, Perth (Phone 08 93719988).
Congratulations from Toyo
