5S is a system that helps to eliminate all kind of waste in a
workplace and supports workplace improvement. Standing for

5S was implemented by Toyo Tyre & Rubber Australia Limited in 2003;
the aim was to improve every aspect of the production divisions,
from environmental issues, through to process efficiencies.
Seeing great improvements with the implementation in these
divisions, the tyre division then adopted 5S later that year.
Adoption of 5S has lead to Toyo Tyre & Rubber Australia Limited
being able to limit the effect of increasing cost, such as raw
material, freight, plant and equipment, while also improving the
efficiency of receiving the Toyo Tires products for the user.
